This new Lan-Cay model weighs 15% less then the standard M9. The lighter weight is achieved by using a special high grade stainless steel alloy with aluminum interior components. Six holes in the blade lighten weight as well, yet do not compromise the integrity of the blade. Performance and balance are exceptional with this new model. The Lan-Cay “M9-LW Bayonet” is a multi-purpose tool. It functions as a saw, a general field and utility knife and together with its specially designed sheath or scabbard as a wire cutter. The M9-LW is used as a bayonet on the M16 series rifle, the M4 series carbine, and fits the Mossberg 590 Special Purpose shotgun. It is also used as a hand weapon.
